Annual Sports Day

The school playground of Amrit Indo Canadian Academy was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere as the school celebrated its 15th Annual Sports Day on 2nd November 2019. It was an inter-house athlete meet where almost 700 students representing their respective houses participated in the sports day events that included a uniform March Past, School Band Performance and Yoga Demonstration as well. All students especially the participants were really excited about the event. The programme began with a melodious Shabad Gayan. The Chief Guest, Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, Ex Chairman Ludhiana Market Association and a prominent Congress leader and Mr. Damanpreet Sharma, Sarpanch Ladian, graced the occasion with their auspicious presence. Mr. Inder Mohan Singh, in his key note address, emphasised that Annual sports day marks a red letter day in each child’s life and how important sports are in a student’s life. S. Tarlochan Singh applauded the principal, the director and the president of the academy for their outstanding achievement in shaping up the academy with their rich experience in the field of education. The celebrations began with a lightening of the sports torch, flag hoisting, march past by all the four houses Sahibzada Ajit Singh, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh followed by the Oath taking ceremony. The events filled in the hearts of everyone with the spirit of sportsmanship and unity .The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events. They mesmerized the audience with their energetic performances. Gatka, 3000 meter race and all relay races remained the main attraction of the mega event . Sahibzada Ajit Singh House lifted the Overall Trophy whereas Sahibzada Jujhar Singh House remained the first runner up. The pique of the show was the announcement for the House Trophy Winner.
