Gurpurab Celebrations

To commemorate the 550th birth anniversary replica watches of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Amrit Indo Canadian Academy organized a series of events to pay homage to the saintly and prophetic Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The main rationale behind organizing this event was to connect the kids with the philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev ji and exhort them to follow these in life.The celebration began with a shabad. Chirjot Kaur of 5th class spoke about the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji with message of unity and harmony. Damanpreet Kaur from 3rd class spoke about the overcoming of five cardinal vices, making others to know about the life and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev ji. After this there was intersection shabad gayan competition for class 3rd. The participants filled the air with peace and tranquility by their gurbani recital . The spiritual ambience of devotional shabads was attended by the school principal, president, teachers and the students. In this competition, class 3rdH bagged first position, 3rd A & F bagged 2nd position and 3rd E got 3rd position. At the end, 5th class girls presented a kavshri describing the glory of Guru Nanak Dev ji. The school principal, Ms. Jaskiran Kaur, while wishing students a happy ‘Gurupurab ‘, impressed upon them that the true religion is ‘humanity’ only. The school president, Sardar Harminder Singh also addressed the students and said that working for the entire humanity is the need of an hour and it is the real purpose of commemorating the centenaries of Guru sahiban. He added that taking forth Guru Nanak Dev ji ‘s message of conserving environment has been adopted by the school by growing sacred forest.
